I did plan this “faux landscape,” but it turned out better than I had hoped. I wanted to shoot it right before they mowed and right after a good rain, and that happened the other day.
A wasn’t sure how it was going to work out, so I shot several angles, being careful to get the reflections right. Later, after I picked the right shot, there wasn’t much left to do. Some careful cropping helped the illusion along.
It just goes to show that what you see–or what you think you see–is often a matter of perspective and context.
