Fir and Hide

Wrinkly, bumpy hide and short, straight fur–I hope this captures the feel of the tree. The term “treehide” especially suits it–with “hide” more like the skin of a great beast than the bark of a tree.

(By the way, that’s no typo in the name, but a little humor.)

What a bystander would see:
fir and hide, bystander

Unlike many conifers, this tree’s lower branches open, letting you see into its inner life–not a characteristic of this species, but a consequence of the its life circumstances.
