Whatever you see in this Duet, it’s in a hurry–to the point of disintegration.

When I first took the original photo, I had in mind trying to make an “Illusion” out of it–that is, removing any context that would indicate its scale, so that it might look like a life-size landscape instead. I wasn’t happy with the attempt, so discarded it,…

BUT later I pulled it back out to try for an abstract, bi-color “Duet.” I was surprised by the result.

What the camera saw:
rush, as shot“Rush” is from the top of this image and the direction of the “rushing” is perpendicular to the flow of the actual water here (which is toward the viewer).
